These hard working people deserve real praise as they are extremely polite and give service from the hearth. And what about the food? The guy even fixed the little wobbly table without asking. It is just excellent. Keep it up. First class all the way.

La Barca never fails to meet our expectations. A delicate aljotta (the real thing!) to start off, followed by grilled calamari done to perfection and deep fried calamari (yes, we love calamari!) the softness and suppleness of which teamed up superbly to the palest of pale, crisp batter, its delicate shade testifying to the freshness of the oil they were fried in... and accompanied by beautifully varied vegetables roasted to perfection. Wash all that down with a Chablis and you're home :) La Barca is a winner, every time round, and then - its superb night view of the bay of Mellieha. You'll keep seeing us again and again.

La Barca is always a pleasure... one of our favourite restaurants, which we return to over and over. Its water's edge balcony is one of the most relaxing places for a quiet dinner, its menu is balanced and varied. Then we come to what matters most- service and food. One reason we return so often here is the service. We were recognised at our first visit, quite a feat. Service is descrete, welcoming, warm, helpful, always with a sincere smile! Once, when I asked for a lemon sorbet and it had finished, the lady who serves us simply bought one for me from elsewhere! Then the fool. We go there for fish; it's superb, whatever we order. My 1st was spaghetti with shrimp and prawn sauce, which was as fine as a bisque, delicate, delicious, lovely. My wife had deep fried calamari rings - no frozen ones, deliciously fresh and fried in fresh oil. Lovely. Her 2nd was lampuki, presented as finely as they tasted! As for my mixed seafood.. beautifully delicate! We can't recommend this enough!!

This is the fifth time we have been to La Barca. Fortunately they managed to keep their standard and actually improved it. The Salmon Fillet and the Beef Fillet stuffed with Maltese sausage were both very good and well presented. If I may pass a remark: the music coming from the Maya Beach just underneath the restaurant was a bit too loud.

The beef carpaccio was very good just a small portion though. The duck was very good with honey etc. The beef was supposed to be with prawns, we thought it was a surf & turf but apparently the prawns were like a prawn bisque in the sauce.

We visited this restaurant with another couple and our 2 year old. Everything went well up until the time when we finished our main course and our son started crying as we was tired, after being quiet the whole night. The waitress came to tell us politely to shush him up not to disturb other customers. I'm sorry but if a restaurant provides high chairs, we assume that it accepts children under the age of 4. Needless to say, we felt utterly offended, asked for the bill and left immediately, and will surely never visit again

The ambience was very good, lovely view and nice background music, but very disappointed with the food. As a starter i tried the carpaccio and it was dry and the meat was dark in the outer rims and raw inside very tasteless. As a main course i chose the fillet of beef with prawns. The fillet had pieces which were well done, some pieces rare and some medium, served with a watery cream,not very pleasant. The wine list has a good selection with reasonable prices. The waitresses were doing their best to please the customers

Really enjoyed an early dinner at this restaurant (they open at 5pm!) Starters (fried goat cheese, beef carpaccio) were excellent, as were the main courses (chicken and lobster, fresh fish). Dessert menu somewhat limited. Service was fast, relaxed and with a smile. The view over Ghadira bay is great! Prices extremely reasonable, even without Gusto discount! Very recommendable :)

As always never manage to drag the sliders but recommend, lovely relaxing meal out on the terrace. Food was nice, well presented and service was good too. Will be returning & so convenient to have the 3hour complimentary parking included. Thumbs up!

This is the first time we were disappointed at La Barca. The octopus salad consisted basically just veg, while the fritto misto was not 100% according to menu and was not freshly cooked. On informing the manager about it, he just grinned!

The third time we have been there. Not much impressed this time. Service a bit slow with the Rib-eye steak not so tender with a lot of tendon, inferior quality. Fillet Steak was Ok. Nothing out of this world.

A beautiful restaurant overlooking Ghadira Bay, which we visited in the evening so that we can enjoy the sunset as well as a delicious meal! The service was impeccable. We tried the salmon in dill sauce which was mouthwatering. It would be nice to visit again.
